Open Archive Walter Gropius

Walter Gropius’s extensive private archive related to the history of the Bauhaus still continues to form the indispensable core and heart of the Bauhaus-Archiv collection today.

It currently comprises of 14,000 letters from the years 1910 to 1969, 3,500 photos of the buildings and projects of Walter Gropius, 2,500 private photographs as well as his newspaper archive on the Bauhaus from the years 1917 to 1925.

In view of current developments in relation to coronavirus, the temporary bauhaus-archiv is closed until further notice.
