Gropius in the City

The weeklong project workshop “Gropius in the City” took place at the Young Arts Gropiusstadt from 28 to 31 October 2024. In cooperation with the Girls’ Sports Centre Wilde Hütte and Stadtvilla Global, the participants received an introduction to the process and techniques of stop-motion filmmaking by artists and freelance educators of the Bauhaus-Archiv, Atefeh Kheirabadi and Mehrad Sepahnia. Then the participants created short stop-motion films featuring their favourite places in the residential quarter of Gropiusstadt from their own personal perspective. “Gropius in the City” was made possible by the Berlin-Neukölln Jugendkulturinitiative through the project bauhaus@gropiusstadt. Shaping the Neighbourhood. This outreach project was funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion and is supported with an accompanying programme by Berlin Mondiale.
