100 years of bauhaus Design: Stan Hema

On the occasion of 100 Years of Bauhaus, the centenary celebration featuring events all across Germany, numerous protagonists in Berlin will also be devoting attention to this theme. Throughout the year cultural institutions, museums and projects will be approaching the Bauhaus theme from different perspectives. Kulturprojekte Berlin is organising “BerlinBauhausWeek” on behalf of the federal state of Berlin. During this one-week festival the ideas of the Bauhaus will be brought out into the city. Situated between the Long Night of Museums at the end of August and the Open Heritage Day (Tag des offenen Denkmals) on 8 September, it will present a diverse programme in public spaces. A display-window exhibition in retail shops will invite you to go for a stroll and will present the history of the Bauhaus, its influence, life at the school and the products it exported around the world. Lecture and film programmes, exhibition openings, guided tours and performances round off the programme.
