‘Mary in the Moon’ is the sketch for the whole-body mask from Lothar Schreyer’s Moon Play – a ritualistic play aimed at the purification and salvation of humanity. During the rehearsals in 1923, however, open disputes arose about this approach, in response to which Schreyer left the Bauhaus.
