Exhibition architectures are usually highly elaborate structures built especially for the event and disposed of once it's over. For our Talkshop Museum discussion series, the design collective Refunc (Jan Körbes, Denis Oudendijk) have designed the lighting, seating and listening lounges solely from discarded materials. At the end of the event series, the audience is invited to a take the objects and find new uses for them.

The international collective Refunc questions the common design principle "form follows function". In Refunc's creations, form and function are not final, but cyclical. Combining them in new imaginative ways, Refunc give discarded objects new functions: Disposable transport material makes comfortable seats, plastic bottles become exhibition halls and disused grain silos are converted into tiny houses.

The designer Jan Körbes from the Refunc collective will be a guest at Talkshop Museum on 30 September. You can test the furniture designed by Refunc at the temporary bauhaus-archiv, reserve your favourite piece and pick it up during Commitment Week. The team at the temporary is happy to receive your reservations.
