  • “Bauhaus Play Space” is a room installation at the Temporary Bauhaus-Archiv. It offers a preview of the future educational program in the tower of the newly emerging Bauhaus-Archiv Berlin. Visitors are invited to independently explore selected exercises from the Bauhaus preliminary course. At various stations, they can draw and write on paper and work spatially with different materials. The results remain on site, showcasing the creative energy that visitors bring to the Temporary Bauhaus-Archiv and the diversity found within the historical assignments.

The offerings change, as the foundational exercises taught by various Bauhaus instructors provide a rich resource for engaging with design, art, and space. Exercises from the “Original Bauhaus Workbook” are selected for the stations and can be completed with simple materials. For instance, an analog typewriter is available, reflecting how office equipment was also utilized as artistic tools at the Bauhaus.
