Young Bauhaus

We are “Young Bauhaus”, a group of young people between the ages of 17 and 23 who meet once a week to talk about architecture, design as well as the Bauhaus and to make art together.

To be “Young Bauhaus”, we need a room, material and each other: the Bauhaus-Archiv offers us space for dialogue and material for experimentation and design. We always dedicate our efforts to a topic we’ve chosen for ourselves and take over the museum space to make our perspectives visible to everyone.

This project by young people for young people is developed and led by individuals spending their voluntary social year at the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung – meaning the group is always renewed each year.


Young Bauhaus 2025/26

This year, Young Bauhaus has been organising its own festival on the theme of taking a break. In the run-up to the event, we’ve been exploring what taking a break means to each of us during our weekly meetings; we’ve brainstormed, taken part in workshops and got creative. “Moment Mal” took place from 17 July to 19 July 2026 at the Temporary Bauhaus-Archiv.
