While the renovation and expansion of the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung continues, the Temporary Bauhaus-Archiv in Berlin-Charlottenburg remains open to visitors.

Until 4 October 2026, you can explore the exhibition “New Woman, New Vision. Women Photographers of the Bauhaus” free of charge at the Temporary Bauhaus-Archiv. We are showcasing the biographies of the photographers and reproductions of Bauhaus photographs, as well as works by the three contemporary artists Kalinka Gieseler, Caroline Kynast and Sinta Werner. The originals are on display at the Museum für Fotografie until 4 October. You can also design postcards featuring motifs and concepts from the Bauhaus women photographers. Additionally, we are showing the video work “2292 Tage, 6 Jahre und 100 Tage – das Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung” (2292 Days, 6 Years and 100 Days – the Bauhaus Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung) by Catrin Schmitt, featuring photographs and video sequences documenting the construction progress of our new museum.

It features a varied programme that highlights the collection of the Bauhaus-Archiv and addresses contemporary issues of design, architecture and society. In the Temporary Bauhaus-Archiv, we actively engage with our visitors and the public and address topics related to the future tasks and programmes of the new museum.

The Temporary Bauhaus-Archiv is a project venue where we cannot, for technical reasons, display any originals from our collection. Until the museum reopens, the Bauhaus-Shop can also be found at the Temporary Bauhaus-Archiv.
