Friendly Captcha

We use Friendly Captcha on our website to check and prevent interactions on our website by automated access, e.g. by so-called bots. This is a service provided by Friendly Captcha GmbH, Am Anger 3-5, 82237 Wörthsee, Germany, hereinafter referred to as “Friendly Captcha”.

This service enables Friendly Captcha to determine from which website a request is sent and from which IP address you are using the so-called Friendly Captcha input box. In addition to your IP address, Friendly Captcha may also collect other information that is necessary for the provision and guarantee of this service.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the security of our website and in preventing unwanted, automated access in the form of spam or similar.

Social media link via graphic or text link

We also promote presences on the social networks listed below on our website. The integration takes place via a linked graphic of the respective network. The use of this linked graphic prevents a connection from being automatically established to the respective server of the social network when a website with a social media advertisement is called up in order to display a graphic of the respective network itself. Only by clicking on the corresponding graphic is the user redirected to the service of the respective social network.

After the user has been forwarded, information about the user is collected by the respective network. It cannot be ruled out that the data collected in this way will be processed in the USA.

This is initially data such as IP address, date, time and page visited. If the user is logged into his or her user account of the respective network during this time, the network operator may be able to assign the collected information of the user's specific visit to the user's personal account. If the user interacts via a "Share" button of the respective network, this information may be stored in the user's personal user account and may be published. If the user wants to prevent the collected information from being directly assigned to his/her user account, he/she must log out before clicking on the graphic. In addition, it is possible to configure the respective user account accordingly.

Matomo Analytics

We use Matomo on our website. This is an open source software that allows us to analyse the use of our website. Your IP address, the website(s) of our website that you visit, the website from which you linked to our website (referrer URL), the time you spend on our website and the frequency with which you visit one of our websites are processed.
To collect this data, Matomo stores a cookie on your end device via your internet browser. This cookie is valid for one week. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis and optimisation of our website.

However, we use Matomo with the anonymisation function "Automatically Anonymize Visitor IPs". This anonymisation function shortens your IP address by two bytes so that it is impossible to assign it to you or to the internet connection you are using.

  • Processor: BB-ONE.net
  • Location, hosting: Berlin, Germany
  • Tool: Matomo
  • Anonymisation of personal data: IP address is anonymised. This means the last octet is set to zero, so 123.123.123.123 becomes 123.123.123.0
  • Processing only after anonymisation: Yes
  • Opt-out function: visitor can deactivate tracking
  • Consider browser do-not-track settings: Yes
  • Data transmission encrypted: Yes, exclusively

YouTube

We use YouTube on our website. This is a video portal of YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, hereinafter referred to as "YouTube".

YouTube is a subsidiary of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to as "Google".

We use YouTube in connection with the "extended data protection mode" function in order to be able to show you videos. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website. According to YouTube, the "enhanced data protection mode" function means that the data described in more detail below is only transmitted to the YouTube server when you actually start a video.

Without this "enhanced data protection", a connection to the YouTube server in the USA is established as soon as you call up one of our Internet pages on which a YouTube video is embedded.

This connection is necessary in order to be able to display the respective video on our website via your internet browser. In the course of this, YouTube will at least record and process your IP address, the date and time and the website you visited. In addition, a connection to Google's "DoubleClick" advertising network is established.
If you are logged into YouTube at the same time, YouTube will assign the connection information to your YouTube account. If you would like to prevent this, you must either log out of YouTube before visiting our website or make the appropriate settings in your YouTube user account.

For the purpose of functionality and to analyse user behaviour, YouTube permanently stores cookies on your end device via your internet browser. If you do not agree to this processing, you have the option of preventing the storage of cookies by making a setting in your internet browser. You can find more information on this above under "Cookies".

Google provides further information on the collection and use of data as well as your rights and protection options in this regard in the privacy policy available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Podegee

We use “Podegee” on our website to play our podcast. This is a service provided by Podigee GmbH Revaler Str. 28, 10245 Berlin, hereinafter referred to as “Podegee”. Some of the user data is processed on Vimeo servers.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website.

If you visit a page of our website in which a podcast is embedded, a connection to the Podegee servers is established to play the podcast. For technical reasons, it is necessary for Podegee to process your IP address. The date and time of your visit to our website are also recorded.

If you are logged in to Podegee at the same time as you visit one of our websites in which a Podegee podcast is embedded, Podegee may assign the information collected in this way to your personal user account there. If you wish to prevent this, you must either log out of Podegee before visiting our website or configure your user account with Podegee accordingly.

Podegee uses the web analysis service Google Analytics for the purpose of functionality and usage analysis. Google Analytics stores cookies on your device via your Internet browser and sends information about the use of our website, in which a Podegee podcast is embedded, to Google. It cannot be ruled out that Google will process this information in the USA.

If you do not agree to this processing, you have the option of preventing the installation of cookies by making the appropriate settings in your Internet browser. Details on this can be found above under “Cookies”.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website and in Podegee's legitimate interest in statistically analyzing user behavior for optimization and marketing purposes.

Podegee offers further information on the collection and use of data as well as your rights and options for protecting your privacy at https://www.podigee.com/de/ueber-uns/datenschutz/

Use of Google ads

This website uses Google remarketing technology produced by Google Ireland Ltd. If users visit our website and show interest in our online services, this technology allows us to present users with customised ads on pages associated with the Google Partners network. The ads are displayed using cookies, which are small text files stored on the user’s computer. These files can be used to analyse user behaviour on our website, as well as to offer them targeted product recommendations and interest-based advertising. If you do not wish to receive interest-based advertising, you can deactivate the use of cookies by Google for such purposes by visiting https://www.google.de/settings/ads.

Alternatively, users can disable the use of third-party cookies by visiting the opt-out page operated by the Network Advertising Initiative. By using our services, you indicate your consent to having your data processed by Google in the manner and for the purposes mentioned above. We should note that Google has its own data protection guidelines which are separate from ours. We assume no responsibility or liability for these policies and procedures. Please inform yourself about Google’s privacy policy before using our website.

You can find Google’s privacy policy here: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/. In addition, we provide our online visitors the chance to change their default settings on the use of cookies and personalised advertising.

Use of Facebook ads

Our website uses the Meta Pixel tool in combination with FaceBook ads to track the actions of our website visitors, also known as conversion tracking. This tool is owned by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”). The use of Meta Pixel is provided by Art. 6 (1, f) GDPR, i.e. the website operator has a legitimate interest in effective advertising measures including social media.

By using this Facebook technology, we are able to track the behaviour of website visitors after clicking on a Facebook ad that redirects them to our site. This allows us to evaluate the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes and to optimise future advertising measures. The data collected is anonymised in the process which prevents us, as the operator of the website; to draw any conclusions about our visitors’ identities. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible. Moreover, Facebook reserves the right to use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook Data Policy. This enables Facebook to place ads on Facebook pages and other online media channels. As the website operator, we have no influence on how Facebook uses personal data.

You can find further information on how to protect your personal data on Facebook’s privacy policy page: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. You can also deactivate the remarketing function “Custom Audiences” in the ad settings section. To do this, you must be logged into Facebook. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can deactivate usage-based advertising via Facebook on the website of the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.

Our service provider Seyffert mit Himmelspach GmbH has been granted access to our Facebook Ads system in order to optimise our digital marketing measures. The Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung has undertaken due diligence in selecting this data processing service provider. It is regularly monitored and obliged to carry out the instructions of the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung on the basis of a corresponding service contract. Aside from this service provider, no personal data is forwarded to third parties.
