Freedom With Roxana Samadi

Lorem ipsum

The final episode of this season of About Bauhaus centres on “freedom” – a theme that became existential at the Bauhaus when, after the school was closed in 1933, many Bauhaus members were forced into exile. What did exile mean for the Bauhaus practitioners then – and what does it mean today?

This time, actress and director Roxana Samadi is our guest. In her film “Freedom in the Heart”, she powerfully portrays the experiences of Iranian exiles. At the Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion and Reconciliation in Berlin, she speaks with Adriana Kapsreiter about experiences of exile and about the role art plays in times of flight and exile. How can one preserve freedom in the heart despite all the horrors and trauma?
