What forms of art arise when people with different experiences, perspectives and goals put their heads together and collaborate? How do social and aesthetic processes influence each other? The exhibition “Art and Cooperation in Gropiusstadt” attempts to answer these questions with objects and photos that highlight current collaborative and participative artistic projects.

The aesthetics of these projects are shaped by the dynamic interplay between people, materials, creative gestures, conceptual worlds and physical locations in Gropiusstadt. The displayed works do not represent end results, but rather fragments bearing the traces of common experiences, interactions and temporary interventions.
The exhibition was created as part of the conference “Art and Cooperation in Gropiusstadt”, which took place on 7 October 2025 in the Gropiusstadt community centre. Artists, creative professionals and neighbourhood organisers came together to discuss existing projects, initiate new collaborations and develop joint perspectives for the cultural activities in the Gropiusstadt district of Berlin.
“Art and Cooperation in Gropiusstadt” aims to inspire visitors to read the signs and regard the adventure of collective artistic processes as an opportunity for reflection and participation.
