Sewing Lab 2025

The Sewing Lab at the girls’ sports centre Wilde Hütte emerged from the Design Lab and is dedicated to textile creation. Under the artistic direction of Jorna Quast and Safaa Anani—both former FSJ volunteers at the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung—the participants develop their own projects and learn basic sewing techniques. Since September 2025, the Sewing Lab has been led by Angelique Wlodarczyk, a former intern and student at the Walter Gropius School.

The focus lies on the confident use of the sewing machine, experimenting with individual pattern ideas, and the enjoyment of the creative process. The workshop offers the girls a protected space in which to explore textile forms of expression, create their own pieces, and experience a sense of self-efficacy through working together.
