The Art of Listening 2024
Lorem ipsum
For their project “The Art of Listening”, the students explored the soundscape of the Tegel city heathland. What do insects sound like when you electronically amplify them? What sounds do trees and heath grass make? And what stories does the wind tell us as it sweeps across the heath, bringing cool air to downtown Berlin? Working together with the internationally renowned sound artist Susie Ibarra, the children from the Nürtingen primary school and the Willkommensschule WiKo TXL ventured into the heath and explored the human limits of hearing (and listening).
In Susie Ibarra’s workshop on Saturday, 19 October 2024, at Villa Elisabeth, the young project participants presented what they learned and invited visitors to experiment with acoustic phenomena themselves.
