Workshop “Dot-Sound Composition” 2024

Lorem ipsum

Although the Bauhaus didn’t have its own music department, music played an important role for many of the artists who taught there. Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Lyonel Feininger and even Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius were very intrigued by the connection between modern music and other art forms.

In this workshop, participants connected colours with sounds and then searched for corresponding optical and acoustic stimuli. The dot as a design element, along with rhythm and chance all played a special role in the investigation.
