The influence of Paul Klee is clearly evident in preparatory works such as this one by Gertrud Arndt. She studied in the Textiles Workshop, for which Klee gave separate courses in which his form and colour theory was focused on ways of developing patterns by multiplying elements, dividing surfaces systematically, and the resulting emergence of several centre points.
