What Sparks Creativity? About the Bauhaus Preliminary Course With Nina Wiedemeyer
Lorem ipsum
Anyone wishing to study at the Bauhaus first had to complete the so-called Preliminary Course, a kind of foundation art course that is considered one of the most innovative achievements of Bauhaus teaching – and one that comes with a wealth of great stories. Closely linked to the development of the Bauhaus itself, the Preliminary Course changed over the years and bears witness to the school’s experimental spirit and its unconventional approaches.
In conversation with curator and Preliminary Course expert Nina Wiedemeyer, we talk about instructions and authority, collecting rubbish as a creative act, and the question of how much letting go is part of the creative process.
