From 19 to 21 September 2025, we opened the doors of our new museum building, still under construction, for the very first time. More than 6,000 people responded to the call “Come to the Building Site!” and attended the three-day festival featuring architectural tours, music, talks, artistic installations, performances, and the Bauhaus-Lab for all.

The festival concluded on Sunday, 21 September, with two musical highlights as part of Musikfest Berlin, organised by the Berliner Festspiele, at the Philharmonie. Around 3,000 visitors attended the moderated chamber concert “From Bauhaus to Broadway” and the world premiere of Marc Blitzstein’s opera “Parabola and Circula” (1929/30).

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier delivered a greeting at the premiere, emphasising: “Today we are witnessing artistic freedom under attack in many liberal democracies. And here in our own country, we see right-wing extremists once again declaring the Bauhaus and its ideas a political enemy. We must stand against this!”
