Photography Lab

As part of Bauhaus@Gropiusstadt, we are bringing the historic photography lab at the Walter-Gropius-Schule in Berlin-Neukölln back to life. As a space for learning and experimenting with analogue photography, it complements art lessons and offers pupils new creative approaches to image-making and photographic techniques.

Led by the photographers Erika Babatz, Vivienne Richmond and Iris Janke, participants can explore the many possibilities of analogue photography through workshops and collaborative photography projects – from photograms to working in the darkroom. The focus is on experimentation, hands-on processes and exchanging ideas.

In the long term, the Photography Lab aims to become a shared space for the Gropiusstadt community beyond the school environment, hosting workshops, open lab sessions and exhibitions. A place where people of different generations can come together, work creatively and experience photography together.
