On 30 June 2018 the temporary bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung, our temporary location at Knesebeckstraße 1-2 (U Ernst-Reuter-Platz), has opened. An unconventional space, that offers insights into the future and the past of the museum. You can experience unusual formats and stimulating events, stroll through the wonderful bauhaus-shop and bring one of those selected products home.

the temporary bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung is situated in the listed landmark "Haus Hardenberg", which was built in 1955/1956 by the architect Paul Schwebes and is considered as one of the most significant office and commercial buildings of postwar modernism in West-Berlin.

At the temporary bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung you will also find our information centre. Here you will be able to inform yourself about the Bauhaus centenary in 2019, the building project of our museum and our current events.

As of September 2018 the temporary bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung will offer events and lectures. Please subscribe to our Newsletter or check our website on a regular basis, not to miss an event.

Projects

the temporary bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung is an open, experimental space for cooperations, events and presentations. Here, we reflect the museum in transition as well as the historical Bauhaus and contemporary issues, artistic, social or scientific, and we do seek to interact with visitors and colleagues.

New temporary location!

The Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung at Klingelhöferstrasse is closed, as the museum building will be renovated and receive an extension. We are sorry for the inconvenience!

At the end of June 2018 we opened the temporary bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung, our temporary location at Knesebeckstraße 1-2 (U Ernst-Reuter-Platz), which includes our bauhaus-shop. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
