Code of Conduct
The Bauhaus-Archiv sees itself as an open, welcoming place where current design questions can be addressed from various perspectives – experimentally, playfully, inquisitively and creatively.
We align our actions and activities with the principles outlined in the following documents:
- UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- General Equal Treatment Act (AGG)
- ICOM Code of Ethics
- DFG Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Research Practice
We consider diversity and tolerance to be the foundation of our actions. We are willing to question our viewpoints and recognise perspectives different than our own as long as they are rooted in the fundamental values of our democracy.
We actively confront and combat every form of discrimination and their consequences. We firmly believe that no person should be discriminated against on account of their age, ethnic background and nationality, gender and sexual identity, physical and mental abilities, religion and worldview, sexual orientation or social background.
We do not tolerate harassment, the abuse of power or assault of any kind in our working culture and decisively take action against it.
We cultivate a culture that creates a safe environment, allows us to engage in dialogue with one another, address conflicts and share feedback. We treat each other with respect and appreciation.
We work together in a constructive, solution-oriented and transparent manner.
We assume responsibility for our actions. We keep our agreements; honouring commitments is important to us.
The team of the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung pledges to follow this code of conduct.
Likewise, we expect the same from our partners, contractors and visitors.
Those who are affected by or who observe discrimination or any violation of this code of conduct, can contact
Nina Schönig, Lisa Rocke or Max Wahlich at codeofconduct@bauhaus.de for confidential consultation.
Every report is investigated.
