“The Adventures of the Little Hunchback”
Puppet theatre

Oskar Schlemmer worked with students in the theatre workshop at the Bauhaus Weimar to stage a puppet theatre performance of the fairy tale “The Adventures of the Little Hunchback”. Although they constructed the marionettes, the play was never performed. Director and puppeteer Christian Fuchs has restaged the play with replicas of the original marionettes. Each performance lasts approximately 30 minutes.

The puppets are property of Bauhaus.Weimar.Moderne Die Kunstfreunde e. V. and the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and were realized with the support of the Thuringian State Chancellery.

Performance times: 6:15 pm, 7:30 pm, 9 pm, 10:30 pm

“bauhausWORLD: The Code – The Effect – The Utopia”
Film screening

The filmmaker Lydia Ranke travelled the world to make the three-part documentary film "bauhausWORLD: The Code – The Effect – The Utopia". The first part investigates the secret of the Bauhaus’s success and takes the viewers to faraway Japan. The second part examines its global impact. Where does one find the Bauhaus in everyday life? Is it merely a brand-name today? And is the Bauhaus ultimately responsible for our ultra-designed reality? Part three highlights the influence of the Bauhaus philosophy on our global society and asks “How do we want to live in the future?” and “Can design improve people’s lives?”

6:45 pm – 7:30 pm: Part 1 “The Code”
8 pm – 8:45 pm: Part 2 “The Effect”
9:30 pm – 10:15 pm: Part 3: “The Utopia”
